FIRST-GEN ARTIST
Following your dreams instead of following the pathway designed for you is not for the light hearted. In one ear you have your family saying you should become a lawyer and leave this hobby stuff alone, and in the other ear, you have your subconscious telling you to stick with the plan and keep moving forward.
You want to be this, this, and that, but you have no examples to look up to. You’re the First Generation Artist. You are making history in your bloodline. You are fighting for your life- okay, I’m maybe being a little too dramatic, or you may resonate with the way I am describing this torture- I mean, process.
What happens when you feel unmotivated? What happens when you feel stuck? You have to create. You literally have to create a plan to get you out of the plan that got you stuck initially. You have to create for the creator. You have to look after yourself and your art.
This gets a little easier to manage and pull through once you remember the big picture- your future and the whole reason why you are so dedicated to the arts. You have a plan and you must stick with it, otherwise you’ll risk hearing “I told you so” from the people who had little faith in you in the first place.
